Aging Room Blue Amber: Rafael Nodal’s Latest Dominican Release

I’m just going to say it. Rafael Nodal does not sit still.

The man behind Aging Room cigars has built a reputation for constant movement, and Aging Room Blue Amber is the latest release reflecting that mindset.

Most brands find something that works and just sit back for awhile.

That is not how Nodal operates…it seems he always has something in the works with none of his blends’ phoned in.’

Blue Amber just might be the latest of those endeavors*.

*I say ‘might’ because, frankly, I can’t keep up with him and his creations. But let’s just say this is one that, finally, gets to see the light.

What Is Aging Room Blue Amber?

For context, blue amber is a fossilized resin. It is mostly found in the Dominican Republic, so that might give you an idea of where this blend is heading.

The cigar itself is a celebration of Rafael’s journey in life and the cigar industry.

My understanding is that some of the tobacco is literally a stone’s throw away from where the amber can be found…almost sharing the same soil.

Blend and Construction Details

Aging Room Blue Amber: Rafael Nodal’s Latest Dominican Release

There was a note here that I was not totally familiar with. My background with AJ Fernandez typically gives me a leg up…not in this case. I had to reach out to Rafael to see what I was missing…

“The minerality of the soil is reflected in the tobacco leaves and blended with volcanic soil of Nicaragua tobacco , makes this blend very rich and flavorful. The San Lotano factory has a cellar under the ground where this Nicaragua wrapper was fermented and aged for 5 years when he opened the factory. Similar to wine cellars under the ground, it has a constant humidity and temperature ideal for fermentation and aging.” – Rafael Nodal

The Blue Amber Humidor

Oh, and don’t get me started on the humidor. I have four towers in my house and have never wanted a desktop humidor so much in my life…you can see it from across the room…and it looks elegant. There is also a matching watch… but hey… one thing at a time here.

Ok, fine…

Limited Edition Blue Amber Watch

Alongside the Aging Room Blue Amber cigar, the collaboration includes a limited-edition Dennison Aging Room Blue Amber timepiece. Only 225 watches were produced.

The watch features a deep blue dial crafted from genuine blue amber, sourced from the same Dominican region that inspired the cigar. Known for handcrafted timepieces and heritage craftsmanship, Dennison designed the watch to complement the Blue Amber cigar box, creating a companion piece that reflects shared artistry and rarity.

Final Thoughts on Aging Room Blue Amber

At this point, expecting Rafael Nodal to slow down feels like a bad bet.
