A $16 Amazon Lighter That Turns You Into a 1970s Magician?

There are cigar lighters, and then there are “ladies and gentlemen, for my next trick…” lighters.

I saw this lighter pop up on social media a couple of times. It reminded me of a 1970s magician. Suddenly, I’m less “guy enjoying a cigar” and more “guy about to saw an assistant in half.”

The lighter works fine. I mean…it lights.

Vintage Shake Ignition LighterIt is made by a company called LunarFiery. You can find it on Amazon here, for about $16.99

That said, it needs to be charged up (via USB) – presumably for the LED lighting and ignition.

The big downside?

This lighter may burn through more fuel than I have ever seen. You should get 4-5 cigars per tank. And that is not counting how many times you show off lighting it, which is the whole point of having it to begin with.

Nobody’s buying this lighter because it’s discreet or serious—it’s for the person who wants their cigar ritual to have a little showmanship. You don’t just light your cigar; you perform it.

Bonus points if you own a cape.

Full Disclosure: I am into magic and card tricks in a big way. There are 150+ card or coin tricks within 4 feet of me as I sit at my desk writing this. Don’t get me wrong…I’m a master of none of them…But I do like to learn the secrets. – That said, I’m still not using this lighter.
