The Cigar Industry Celebrates World Cup

Every four years, the world loses its mind over soccer. Think the Super Bowl is big? Think again.

Naturally, cigar companies saw an opportunity to celebrate…way more exciting than curling or ski ballet.

Here are a couple we have seen come in.

Oliva Cigar’s Soccer Ball

Of course, somebody had to make a soccer ball humidor.

The Oliva World Cup Soccer Ball Humidor is exactly what it sounds like….designed like a giant soccer ball.Cigar Industry Celebrates World Cup

I was able to see it at PCA, and it is impressive, and collectors are probably going to love it.

This thing has a very strong chance of becoming one of those “I should have bought one when it came out” collectibles five years from now although I’m not really sure how well the humidor seals and how much it is just a really…really cool box.

MSRP is $680, and Oliva created 5,000 humidors with the bulk going to the US market.

Plasencia Triunfal

Plasencia is leaning hard into the international celebration angle with the new Plasencia Triunfal World Cup 2026 edition.

The cigar reportedly features a Nicaraguan-forward blend packaged in boxes inspired by vintage championship posters and old stadium ticket art. The name “Triunfal” feels appropriate considering half the people smoking these will start pretending they understand how the playoffs work.

The branding also makes sense for Plasencia. Their global footprint already stretches across multiple continents, so tying into an international event feels natural instead of forced. Unlike some sports-themed cigar gimmicks over the years, this one actually feels on brand.

These cigars are going to cost you around $60…so you might want to save it for the big game.

Le PETIT World Cup Limited Edition

Le PETIT appears to be taking a more boutique approach with its World Cup release.

Representing where you come from goes beyond football, beyond borders, beyond a tournament. It is who you are. For years, the community asked for their flag on Le PETIT. The World Cup is the perfect moment to satisfy this long-time demand,” said Fabien Kerneis, Head of Digital.

48 editions, one per competing nation, each featuring a national flag in full color and engraved “World Cup Limited Edition” on the blade.

Availability: May 19 through July 19. When the final whistle blows, the edition disappears. MSRP: $189

OZ Family Cigars Limited Edition World Cup 2026

OZ Family Cigars entering the World Cup conversation actually makes a lot of sense.

Tim Ozgener has always understood presentation, storytelling, and emotional connection better than most brands in the industry. A global event like the World Cup gives the company room to lean into all three.

If they execute this correctly, it could become one of the sleeper releases of the year. Especially because OZ Family tends to attract smokers who appreciate subtle design details instead of giant novelty packaging.

At first glance, cigars and the World Cup sound like a weird combination but…

Then you think about it for ten seconds.

Both are social experiences. Both bring people together for long conversations. Both involve rituals, traditions, and people passionately arguing over things they absolutely cannot control.

Expect a few packed lounges and at least one guy explaining international soccer rules with the authority of a man who learned them on YouTube three days earlier.
