Crowned Heads Broadway Robusto Extra

A hardy, dark brown, oily wrapper covered this cigar.  The pre-light nose was rich with tangy sweet, earthy tones with a sweet hay-like taste on the pre-light draw.  At first light the aroma was filled with cedar and black pepper spice, which also lingered in the taste.  The body was full with a dense and creamy texture from the first puff to the last.  The draw was very smooth and effortless, producing generous amounts of smoke to the palate with ease.

The peppery spice was a consistent trait and gained intensity as the cigar was enjoyed.   The aroma maintained cedar and wood characteristics with a nice balance between sweet and spicy notes.  Coffee like tones developed in the flavor while maintaining it’s spicy, earthy, woody notes throughout.

Outstanding construction overall with an even burn that held on to a long, nearly white ash.  Fairly complex with numerous changes throughout.  An in your face cigar with a lot of character and the strength to match.  Wouldn’t recommend for a beginner but an excellent selection for anyone who loves a full bodied, full flavored, full strength spicy cigar with a big, intriguing aroma.
