Drew Estate Blackened S84 Shade to Black Corona
An attractive, corona shaped cigar that had a golden brown wrapper. It had light pre-light notes on the taste and nose with a hay and a honey-like sweetness. The cigar was light in the hand yet very firm to the touch with no soft spots.
Once lit, it produced a wonderful aroma with sweet tones and more honey like characteristics with mild black pepper notes in the taste with more red and white pepper qualities that lingered in the nose especially when retro hailing the smoke. The draw was smooth, deliberate and effortless. It had an even burn that never required any touchups. It held onto a long darker grey ash.
The aroma really took centerstage on this cigar. It was full and rich with traces of spice, nuts and honey.
The body was medium on the pallet, with mild strength throughout the first half while gradually building to a mild-medium in the second. This was an extremely effortless and enjoyable, mild medium experience that was loaded with bright flavors.
This is a cigar that anyone could enjoy whether you’re just beginning or someone with experience who enjoys a lighter cigar that’s loaded with the flavor Connecticut shade wrappers are famous for.
