E.P. Carrillo Announces New Cigar Blend E.P. Carrillo Sumatra
E.P. Carrillo unveils its latest cigar blend, the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra, with a refined yet approachable profile that offers the perfect medium-bodied, full-flavored experience.
Introducing the newest addition to E.P. Carrillo’s portfolio, this blend is designed for everyday smokers who seek the brand’s pristine quality and complexity in a new format. The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra, released in three sizes – Robusto (5×50), Toro (6×52), and Gordo (6×60) – features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper on top of a double binder from Nicaragua and Honduras, with fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. E.P. Carrillo returns to a traditional round press, contrasting with the acclaimed Perez-Carrillo series, which are exclusively box-pressed.
The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra offers a unique experience, providing the same exceptional quality, now more accessible than ever. The MSRP for the Sumatra will range from $9.25 for a Robusto, $10 for a Toro, to $10.75 for a Gordo, each in a 24 ct. box.
The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra makes its debut at the 2024 PCA trade show in Las Vegas this weekend with pre-orders beginning at the show. Shipping begins in late May to retailers.
The company aims to launch six blends within the next two to three years, each distinguished by their unique and notable wrappers. In the second half of 2024, E.P. Carrillo will release the Honduras and Maduro varieties. This will be followed by the introduction of the Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Cameroon blends in the subsequent years.
The packaging is designed to modernize and simplify the shopping experience for consumers. With its inviting and modern look, the Sumatra aims to put E.P. Carrillo at the forefront, keeping it simple and eye-catching on the shelves.
“We intend to incorporate a series of educational materials to teach our smokers about each wrapper in this series we are calling our Essence Series, where the focus is all about the wrapper,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo.
