Espinosa Laranja Hybrid Short Churchill

This was an elegant looking cigar with a smooth, slightly oily wrapper and soft box press shape. The pre-light nose was mild, yet had a rich character with cocoa and graham cracker-like notes, which was also noticeable on the cold-draw flavor.
Once lit, it immediately had a full and robust aroma with spicy peppery traits, deeper cocoa notes and traces of wood. There was a slight resistance on the draw, which seemed deliberate as it allowed generous amounts of smoke through to the palate with ease.
The smoke was dense, full bodied and had a creamy texture in the taste. It had some spice in the flavor but was subtle and more noticeable when retro-haling, where it revealed cinnamon and white pepper-like spices.
The aroma settled down a little, but remained full with hardy, earthy traits and spice. A medium strength profile slowly developed to full but never overwhelmed the palate.
Excellent construction with a slow and even burn that held on to a tight ash. A complex cigar as it continuously developed as it was enjoyed. The smoke became denser, creamier and had a mouthwatering finish. It maintained full, rich flavor and aroma profiles.
A very well made “full” cigar that had balance and a satisfying, well-rounded rich character.
