Flat Flame Lighter by LES FINES LAMES
I just returned from a trip to Spain to find a lovely gift from the team at Les Fines Lames.
Initially known for their cigar-cutting knives and later for their punch bracelets, they have expanded into lighters.
Frankly, this is a great move and a nice addition to their offerings.
A few details about the Les Fines Lames lighter…
Right out of the gate, the Le FEU lighter has a great feel. It feels solid but with a very smooth lacquer coat.
When you look straight down, the lighter you can see the inspiration. A Cigar Ring / Band.
This slight bump in the middle on both sides becomes a tactile obsession…rolling it back and forth in your hand.
The model I received is the Le FEU-RS “Glacier Blue.” The blue is one of eight options with a choice of brushed metal or high-durability satin paint finishes…so you are bound to find a color that works for you.
The LE FEU is a flat flame lighter.
If you are not familiar with flat flame lighters, there are couple of them on the market. They incorporate the advantage of a single flame lighter with a bit more of a surface area for touch-ups.
Initial light up is more like ‘painting’ strokes at the foot of the cigar, pre-light. Kind of fun when you get the hang of it and they have grown on my over the years.
Two important inclusions.
There are two features beyond to obvious ‘lighting up’ that I look for.
One is a fuel display.
It just takes out the mystery of how much fuel I have left…and whether I need to ‘top off’ before heading out.
Secondly is an easy to adjust flame size.
It is this last one that companies NOT using the big thumb dial can make it hard on us.
I am please to say that although the LE FEU does not use the oversized dial, they did make a nice wide foot that has a slot deep enough for a thumb nail to adjust with ease.
The nerd stuff…

Much like how I tested out the Saka Cutter, I’m going to light the next 100 cigars with ONLY this lighter and report back.
