General Cigars CAO La Traviata

General Cigars CAO La Traviata

This cigar was covered with a dark-brown, oily wrapper. It had a full pre-light smell and taste with cedar, spices and ripe earthy notes. The cigar had a smooth draw with just a slight resistance, and proved to have outstanding overall construction throughout the duration of the experience. Once lit it had a hot-spicy character that lingered on the palate with each puff, which dissipated about an inch in revealing a creamier texture. Intense black and white pepper notes remained in the nose when retro-haling the smoke. The flavor was deep and rich, with heavy earth tones. A full body kicked in pretty quickly in the throat and leveled out about two inches in, becoming more balanced. A cocoa-like note developed in the aroma as the cigar burned down.

This cigar still offered a lot of flavor and had a full, rich aroma. Medium-full body overall, it was still a rich and complex cigar after all these years and could withstand more time in the humidor.
