General Cigars La Gloria Cubana Reserva Figurado

General Cigars La Gloria Cubana Reserva Figurado

This was an impressive looking large torpedo shaped cigar with a faint, oily sheen. The pre-light smell had light, sweet hay-like and cedar notes. Heavy in the hand and solid to the touch, there was an effortless, smooth draw with a very slight resistance. The cigar had a light texture on the palate with a sweet tone that was noticed in the taste through the finish of each puff as well as in the aroma of the smoke. There was a good amount of white peppery traits especially when blown through the nose. As the cigar was smoked, fermented tobacco and a very light cocoa powder aroma developed. This cigar changed quite a bit from when it was new in both body and flavor profiles/strengths, mellowing out quite a bit. It had a mild-medium body, with a long medium bodied finish. The smoke was balanced on the palate with sweet and spicy notes that played off of each other. The burn and overall construction was outstanding; it was slow, even and hung on to a very long, nearly white ash. This was a fairly straightforward smoke but still offered a lot of nice sweet and spicy flavors.
