A dark and toothy wrapper covered this cigar. The pre-light nose had a mild sweetness with cocoa, floral-like notes and earthy tones of wood and wet hay on the pre-light taste. The initial flavor when lit was rich, with more sweet-earthy notes and the addition of white pepper that lingered in the nose and on the back end of each puff.
The smoke had a mouth watering, dense and full bodied texture. Cedar and molasses developed in the aroma while the white peppery spice remained a consistent trait throughout the first half. The initial spicy peppery hit at the beginning of the cigar remained consistent but smoothed out, especially in the second half when a lot more cocoa notes and creamier textures developed.
The spice also lingered in the taste but complimented the dense, full body and full flavors of the cigar. The burn was slow, incredibly even and produced a very tight, light gray ash. There was a slight resistance to the draw but it was incredibly smooth and effortless.
Medium strength throughout the experience with a nice balance in flavor. Not as “strong” as one might assume form appearance alone, although it was a hardy and full flavored. Outstanding construction and burn producing a long, tight, light gray ash.
