J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Diamond Crown Maximus
This cigar had a very dark and hearty looking wrapper with oily pockets. The pre-light nose was clean and light with a subtle sweet smell. The pre-light taste had a sweet earthy coffee note. Packed tightly and solid to the touch, it had a smooth and effortless draw that produced large volumes of smoke. The sweetness from the pre-light carried over into the aroma and taste. The cigar burned and smoked without a hitch and had outstanding overall construction, especially for a larger ring gauge cigar. It had some peppery spices in the nose that also lingered on the back end taste of each puff. More black peppery spices developed yet the cigar maintained a creamy smooth texture and balance. This cigar was full flavored with a full, sweet character and aroma. Mild body to start which became medium with a medium to full finish at the end.
