J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Julius Caeser
This cigar was heavy in the hand and solid to the touch. It had a slightly oily wrapper with an even brown color. The pre-light smell was clean with a lightly sweet tobacco note, while the taste was similar just more noticeable. The draw was incredibly smooth and effortless, with just a slight resistance. The smoke had a creamy texture with peppery spices through the back end of each puff and a lot when retro-haling the smoke. It had a mouthwatering, creamy texture. The aroma had a dominating sweet tone with a rich characteristic and deep flavors with caramel, nuts and oak. There was a smokiness in the flavor and aroma, both of which intensified as the cigar was enjoyed. It was very clean and light on the palate. It had a mild start and finished off medium-bodied. The spices settled down in the nose revealing more of the subtle nuances in flavor. This was a hearty cigar overall packed with deep and rich flavors with a long finish. Age has done this cigar well. It has remained rich in flavor with more balance on the palate. It was a smooth, full flavored experience that didn’t overwhelm the palate.
