La Palina Goldie Prominente
This cigar had a classic look and a pig tail cap. It had a medium-brown colored wrapper with noticeable smaller veins and a slightly oily sheen. Firm to the touch, light in the hand, the cigar had no soft spots with an easy draw that had barely any resistance. There was a mild sweetness on the pre-light nose with floral tones and hay on the taste. At first light there were white peppery notes in the nose as well as in the flavor. Getting into the first half the smoke had a mouthwatering, full bodied texture with a consistent spice that lingered on the palate. It maintained a mild earthy trait with notes consisting of vanilla and floral tones. There was a sweetness to the smoke that was present from beginning to end with wood, hay and mild cocoa notes that developed later on in the taste and aroma. The cigar was well balanced entertaining all areas of the palate. There was a slow build in the strength from the time the cigar was lit to the last puff finishing medium to full overall. The aroma had a unique, luring quality with bright, sweet and spicy, welcoming notes. Outstanding construction through and through with a slow and even burn that hung on to a long, light colored ash. With numerous changes and developments throughout the cigar had complexity, becoming richer as the cigar was smoked. An extremely well made flavorful cigar that is sure to get added to the rotation.
