L’Atelier Cote d’Or ’19 6 x 50
A deep, dark reddish-brown wrapper covered this cigar with noticeable oily pockets. The pre-light nose had a tangy sweet smell that was also noticed on the dry draw. Once lit the cigar immediately provided dense, creamy, full-bodied smoke that was incredibly smooth. Black pepper spices were noticed in the nose when retro-haling the smoke and eventually lingered in the taste at the back end of each puff.
The spices became more reminiscent of cinnamon in the taste and remained a subtle feature with a dominating creamy texture throughout. There was some resistance to the draw but was effortless to enjoy the large volumes of smoke with ease. The aroma had more spicy features with similar black pepper notes and a slightly sweet tone.
The strength of the cigar was pretty jild at the start and slowly picked up as the cigar was enjoyed finishing medium-full. Outstanding construction throughout the duration of the experience with an incredibly even burn that produced a light gray ash. Overall a very easy cigar to enjoy with spices and strength that won’t overwhelm the palate and nearly flawless construction. An excellent choice for someone who enjoys dense, creamy smoke with a nicely balanced spicy character.
