PARA JOSÉ SEIJAS: A TRIBUTE TO FAMILY, CRAFT, AND GIVING BACK.

Matilde Cigars is proud to announce their latest creation, “PARA JOSÉ SEIJAS,” a special cigar crafted in honor of Enrique Seijas’ father, José A. Seijas. This tribute embodies his three core passions: family, tobacco, and giving back.

“Family was the cornerstone of our father’s existence. Despite long hours spent in the factory, he always prioritized quality time at home, ensuring that every moment shared was filled with love. This is the first cigar under our company to carry his name, celebrating the profound impact he had on our lives. Tobacco was not just a job for my father; it was his life’s devotion. With meticulous care, we selected only the finest tobacco and have aged this cigar for over a year. Each Para José Seijas cigar reflects the essence of his passion and craftsmanship. A key principle guiding our father throughout his life was helping those in need. He consistently looked out for his employees and supported those requiring assistance. After battling Parkinson’s disease – an illness that imposes significant emotional and financial burdens on caregivers – our father’s legacy takes a new meaning. A portion of the proceeds from the Para José Seijas cigar will be donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation in the Dominican Republic (Fundacion Dominicana Contra el Mal del Parkinson – FUNDOCONEDEP), honoring his spirit of giving back.  This project is incredibly dear to us and has taken considerable time to bring it to fruition. We are excited to share it with the world finally, featuring all Dominican components except for the carefully selected wrapper from Ecuador. The Para José Seijas cigar is scheduled to be released April 2025.  It features an Ecuadoran wrapper with a binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic.  It’s a 6 x 52 medium bodied cigar that will be packaged in 20 count boxes and have an MSRP of $18.
