Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Dark Corojo
This was an intense looking cigar with a dark red and brown marbleized looking wrapper. Dominating pre-light smells of clean barn, hay, and chocolate covered raisin like tones – very distinct with unique characteristics. The cigar was heavy in the hand and solid to the touch, yet had an incredibly smooth and effortless draw. The texture of the smoke proved to be as rich as the cigar looked; full, creamy with black peppery spices through the nose with white pepper and a nutty characteristic in the aroma. There was a consistent subtle sweetness in the flavor, which accentuated the earthy, dried-fruit tones. The cigar had great construction and a slow burn. It had a big start once lit with a full body, then settled into and balanced with the full flavors of the cigar. Full mouth feel and just a rich, all around “full” cigar. A great choice to kick back with and enjoy when you can let time slow down and appreciate all of the nuances this cigar had to offer.
