This was an impressive looking cigar with its large ring gauge and dark, rugged brown wrapper. It had a big pre-light nose with sweet woods and earthy cocoa notes. At first the smoke had a big creamy texture, which remained consistent as the cigar was smoked, with big peppery spice notes that developed in the nose. The cigar smoked effortlessly and had an even burn, with great overall construction. The aroma continued to develop and became richer as the cigar burned down, revealing a lot of cocoa, coffee and woody notes. The cigar was fairly consistent beginning to end and offered full rich flavors that had a big luring aroma. It did gain strength as it was smoked reaching to a full body then mellowing out into the second half, which became incredibly smooth and balanced, then picking back up to full near the end. For a large ring gauge cigar, this cigar delivered a full flavored experience and smoked more like a small ring cigar. It was effortless to enjoy. A great large ring cigar that didn’t overwhelm the senses.
