There was an attractive, oily wrapper on this cigar that was smooth to the touch. It had a long and coiled pigtail cap that covered the head of the cigar.  After twisting off the pigtail, a mild cocoa note was noticed on the pre-light nose and taste with clean hay-like notes and a sweet overall tone.  The cigar was firm to the touch and had an effortless draw after we clipped off a little more of the cap with a cutter. Once lit, a lot of the initial smoke had a lot of spices in the nose that also lingered in the taste through the finish of each puff. There was a sweetness in the aroma that was also noticeable on the taste.  Mild body to start that quickly built to medium. The spices in the cigar were consistent and never overwhelming. The aroma continued to develop as the cigar was enjoyed with a rich, luring tone. Outstanding construction overall, this cigar was effortless to enjoy and had a lot of nice, rich flavors. It’s a versatile cigar in that it could easily be enjoyed at any time of the day.

This is a medium brown wrapper cigar as smooth as silk. Nice pigtail head and unfinished foot. The bunch is nice and firm with no soft or hard spots. The cold draw is perfect. Today’s beverage is a Lagunitas Imperial Stout. The unfinished foot gives off a nice nutty flavor. Once I get to the filler a nice bold espresso note develops with a good dose of black pepper in the retrohale. This is definitely a full bodied smoke. The burn is very even. An interesting note: when I clipped the head, I only clipped off the ropy pigtail, leaving the cap leaf almost fully intact. The solid light gray ash held for one inch. At one third the burn is still very even. The espresso and nut flavors are joined by some cedar. The Imperial Stout is proving to be an excellent pairing for the cigar. During the second third the flavors are holding steady. A nice complex blend of cedar, nuts and espresso. Also, the smoke is very smooth for such a full bodied cigar. The burn is still very even and the ash remains solid with no flakes, although it does drop off periodically. Approaching the final inch the excellent construction and complexity remain very good. The pepper in the retrohale also remains consistent.
