This was an impressive looking cigar with a traditional figurado shape that felt solid in the hand and evenly constructed from head to foot. The pre-light characteristics were light and clean on the smell and taste. The draw had a slight resistance and was incredibly smooth, especially when the cigar burned past the tapered foot. As the cigar was lit the initial smoke was full and rich with an even more impressive aroma loaded with earthy, chocolaty notes that remained consistent throughout the duration of the cigar. There was an intense initial peppery spice in the nose when retro-haled. The spices remained consistent and ever-present but balanced extremely well with the hardy, rich and full nature of this cigar. They lingered on the palate but were more intense through the nose. The burn was slow and even requiring little-to-no maintenance. This is an incredibly well made, full-flavored, full-bodied cigar that smoked extremely well when new and can stand up to a lot of aging.
