Cool Breath Review: The $79 Solution to a $3 Problem
I Bought the Cigar Breath Gadget Facebook Wouldn’t Stop Showing Me
If you smoke cigars and use Facebook or Instagram, you have seen the ads. Over and over.
It is like someone decided cigar smokers have two problems. Breath and impulse control*.
*That last one might be on target.
Although some of these ads are static, many are really bad AI videos that tell me I need a breath spray.
Eventually, curiosity and seven messages from readers won. I ordered the Cool Mint version of Cool Breath because, at some point, research becomes a responsibility. Someone had to do it. Sadly, that was me.
Product Overview of Cool Breath
Cool Breath is basically a rechargeable breath spray disguised as a tech gadget. Think Binaca spray in a tech package.
It looks more like a vape than something your dad kept in the car glove box. Magnetic ‘pods.’ USB charging. Pocket-friendly design.
On the company’s website, they lean hard into science language…
..Nano delivery…Oral bacteria…Long-lasting freshness. Solid modern wellness buzzwords.
At its core though, let’s be honest…this is a fancy breath spray.
Cool Breath Unboxing and First Impressions

Facebook thinks cigar smokers need two things: breath spray and products for “intimate performance.” This pic covers both I guess.
The packaging is clean and modern. Apple-style presentation. Everything has that “you paid more than you needed to” feeling.
Inside is:
The device
A mint pod (in my case)
Charging cable
Instructions
The build quality is actually good. Solid click when the pod connects. Feels durable. Not cheap plastic junk.
First thought:
This is either clever engineering or very expensive Binaca spay.
I tested it properly. After a cigar. After coffee. No brushing. No cheating.
First spray hits clean. Strong mint. Fine mist instead of a harsh alcohol blast. So fine I was not really even sure it was spraying…it feels smoother than a traditional spray…like vapor.
Does it work?
Sure.
Does it change your life?
Probably not.
Despite what online ads and social media show me about breath spray and cigar etiquette, there was no long line of women lined up after my dose to kiss me. I mean, this product is no Axe Body Spray, right?
Anyway, it freshens your breath. It cuts some of the cigar taste. It probably helps if you have to talk to humans after smoking. But it does not erase the fact that you just smoked three cigars on your deck binge-watching Peaky Blinders.
Nothing does.
Comparing Cool Breath to Binaca.
So, here is the real comparison nobody in the ads will make. Binaca costs a few dollars. Sometimes around a buck if you catch it right.
Cool Breath costs gadget money. It will run you about $79 the first go-around. Base unit, one pod, and ‘Shipping Protection’ (which I still don’t really know what the hell that is for). Going forward, pods will run you about $13 each.
Each pod should last you, according to their website, about 150 sprays (30 days worth). That means someone on a marketing team has decided I can, or should, use the thing 5 times per day.
Is it better than Binaca? Yeah, I will give them that. Cool Breath feels nicer. Better delivery. More refined. But the end goal is still the same. Temporary freshness. That is literally a breath sprays only job.
This is like comparing a disposable lighter to a $90 flat flame lighter. Both make fire. One just makes you feel cooler when you do it.
The price question becomes simple: Do you want breath spray, or breath spray with a tech vibe?
Here is where I ended up…
It works better than drugstore sprays. It feels better to use. It probably lasts a little longer. It is also dramatically more expensive than the old school solutions that cigar smokers have used forever.
If you are already a breath-spray person… like you keep it on you… Then yes, you might want to check them out here.
If not, just continue to pick up that occasional pack of curiously strong mints at the airport shop and call it good.
